Telangana: Five women among eight killed in two separate road accidents

HYDERABAD: At least eight people, including five women, were killed and 20 others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Telangana on Monday.

Medak police said that all the five people who died in Sangaipet were women.

Medak Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepti told TOI that five people killed in a head-on collision between DCM van and a RTC bus.

Sources said that more than 20 people boarded DCM and started their journey from Fasalwadi village in Sanga Reddy to reach Edupayala Durga temple, to attend a function.

RTC bus which was coming from the opposite direction hit the DCM van at Sangaipet.

On being informed, police reached the spot and with the help of locals, the injured were shifted to a local government hospital.

Meanwhile, in another accident on Monday morning, three people died and two others suffered injuries after a DCM hit a car. The mishap took place on National Highway-44. The accident took place after the car hit the parked DCM from the rear side. All the deceased are from Rajanna Sircilla.
