HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old worker travelling on his two-wheeler along with his friend in drunken condition dashed into a road divider and pole in Jeedimetla and died. His friend is said to be in critical condition.
The deceased, Sopan Ram works at a hotel along with his colleague was travelling on a Bajaj Platina bike from Chintal to Shapurnagar on Sunday morning. Police said he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
“They lost control of the two-wheeler and dashed into a road divider and a pole. Ram died on the spot, while his friend, Sundeep Kumar (29), was rushed to hospital. He is in critical condition and undergoing treatment in Osmania General Hospital,” said Jeedimetla Inspector, K Balaraj.
The accident occurred at around 11.30 am on Sunday near HMT in Jeedimetla. “Both were not wearing a helmet and sustained severe head injuries,” added the officer. Following the incident, Cyberabad Traffic police shared the CCTV footage of the incident on social media.
