A police constable working at the Tirumala II town police station was killed in a road accident near Chandragiri highway . The deceased was identified as A Jayachandra (45). The 45-year-old head constable was hit by an unidentified vehicle when he was heading on his bike along the Tirupati-Puthalapattu highway in the late hours on Sunday.
By the time Chandragiri police reached the accident spot near Rahul Dhaba at Thondavada village outskirts, the constable had breathed his last. Police shifted the body to the SVRR government hospital for post mortem examination. The deceased constable, who was a native of Vaddivaripalli in KV Palli mandal , had been residing at Sri Krishna Nagar at MR Palli in Tirupati for some time now.
