Visakhapatnam: Road Safety Week celebrations began in the Port City.
“The staff and workers who are engaged in the underground electricity supply network cabling took part in the road safety awareness campaign at at Akkayyapalem, ” said the project manager PVV Pradeep. Four Town police station house officer Srinivasa Rao flagged off the awareness campaign.
Pradeep said that in continuation of the celebrations, their underground project team joined in to spread awareness about deaths caused by road accidents. The team distributed chocolates to people using helmets and encouraged them to keep using it while driving.
Meanwhile, the Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials said that the tourism minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao would launch the week celebrations on January 18 at the Gambheeram driving track.
