Narayanpet: As part of Road Safety Week celebrations, the Road Transport Authority officials of Narayanpet conducted a rally with schoolchildren and spread the awareness about wearing helmets while driving and also spoke about the dangers of drunk drive, cell phone drive and over speed driving during a programme held in Makthal mandal on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the RTA officials said that every individual who rides a two-wheeler must wear a helmet and must avoid talking over cell phone while driving. “More than 90 per cent of accidents on the roads are happening due to drunk driving, over speed and talking over cell phone while driving. Therefore, every person should follow traffic rules to avoid the accidents
Moreover, these days minor children are also driving the vehicles and as they are unaware of road safety rules and precautions to be taken, they are also causing accidents. Therefore, it is high time the students first know the road safety rules and drive after obtaining the licence,” observed the RTA officials.
Similar programme was also held in Veldanda mandal of Nagarkurnool district, where in the circle inspector of Veldanda Nagaraju spoke at the length about the need to wearing helmets while riding bikes during a rally held on the day.
