In a tragic incident, 12 people were killed and four critically injured in a head-on collision between an SUV and a tractor in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar early Saturday morning.
The accident took place in Kanti area on National Highway (NH) 28 when a speeding Scorpio collided with a tractor loaded with bricks. The tractor was plying on the wrong side of the road when the incident took place. The impact of the head-on collision was such that the Scorpio was completely damaged.
Seven people were killed on the spot while five others succumb to their injuries on way to the hospital. All deceased belongs to Simri village in Hathaudi area of Muzaffarpur.
“12 people have died in this incident. Eleven bodies have been identified till now. All the deceased belong to Muzaffarpur” Kundan Kumar, SDM Muzaffarpur ( East), said.
All the bodies were sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for postmortem. The locals also blocked the national highway for a few hours expressing their anger against the incident.
