Leading Tollywood distributor Kamalakar Reddy and his father took their last breathe on Wednesday after meeting with a tragic accident.
Kamalakar Reddy, who distributed films like Arjun Reddy, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya and various Hollywood films was recently also tested positive for coronavirus, according to reports. On the fateful day, Kamalakar and his father Nandagopal Reddy were travelling to Hyderabad from Nellore in an ambulance for treatment when the incident happened. The accident reportedly took place after the ambulance rammed into a lorry parked on the side of the road.
The father and son passed away on spot due to severe head injuries. The ambulance driver also suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital in Miryalaguda. A few reports state that the driver nodded off at the steering wheel and lost control of the vehicle. Police have taken the mortal remains of Kamalakar and Nandagopal to a government hospital for post-mortem.
Valayam actor Laksh Chadalavada confirmed the news and expressed his grief on social media, “How can this happen? I cannot believe that you are no longer with us. Our journey together will always be remembered! May you RIP Kamalakar Reddy… Sleep Well… #RIPKamalakarReddy.” (sic)
Kamalakar Reddy has been in a movie business from the last 25 years and various people from the industry have paid their condolences. The Producers Council will also conduct a condolence meeting on Thursday at the Producers Council Hall in Hyderabad.
